Approximately 26,900 parents with dependent children die in the UK each year and there is no unified service that provides for families faced with their new reality.
The Ruth Strauss Foundation (RSF) is the only UK wide charity dedicated to supporting families when a parent is diagnosed with an incurable cancer. Research shows that children who are informed, involved and prepared for the death of their parent, cope much better immediately after the bereavement and in their lives thereafter.
I am currently retained by the foundation to lead on trusts and foundations.
